Home Fires Burn
by
Anna Rabinowitz

ushered in with cleavage and a waltz

the faith of light
whites

dead eyes behind masks

and unseeing claimed/shamed

by the slow peepshow of desire

~~~
lies lie in wait in the conjugal streets
(notseeing of eyes wide)
(nighttown of shut lids)
~~~

cowled poseurs
flower in from the heat

lean lithe long-legged flaneurs

(without their understories)

~~~
the carnal carapace stalks its uncertainties
rainbows crest and foreshadowings foreplay
